Haute de Laissez-faire Collection
Hello and welcome:
“The art of doing nothing” isn’t literally about doing nothing— but rather about processing complex layering and experiences that define who we are. When we chart our paths through lessons that are out of our control, we have a choice. We can allow these experiences to keep us down or leverage them as an opportunity to transform their impact on us into something beautiful.
I began painting as a hobby but with the help of a therapist during graduate school I learned to incorporate complex emotions into the “how” of my approach to my personal take on abstract expressionism. By approaching the canvas with the essence and philosophy that “there are no mistakes” paired with the notion that as human beings we are the sum of our parts— through experience, loss, love, triumph— and everything in between. The depth, nuance, and meaning of this collection has a lot to do with the past decade of my life, where I have continually returned to painting as a means to aid in my own understanding of the twists and turns of life.
I have grown to appreciate the benefits of adapting to the changing tides around us— and this collection embodies the resilience it takes to ride the waves without fully surrendering to the current. Thank you for the love and support.
